Fill

In graphics, any solid coloring, shade, or pattern added within the boundaries of a geometric shape. Also known as a boundary fill. Specific types of fills include fountain fills, linear fills, and radial fill.

In sound and music recording, a fill is a small piece of music (usually percussion) used to fill the transition between two music clips.
