Geostationary

Descriptive of an orbit around a planet (as a satellite in orbit around the Earth) in which the orbiting object travels at a velocity equal to that of the rotation of the Earth, so that the object is stationary with respect to a particular point on the Earth's surface. Also referred to as geosynchronous.
