Hierarchical Link

In animation, a linking of two objects in a parent-child relationship, which means essentially that changes visited upon the parent are inherited by the child, but not the reverse. For example, if animating the head of a rabbit, moving the head (parent) would change the position of the ears (child), but moving the ears would not change the position of the head. This sort of link is the basis of the animation technique of inverse kinematics.
