Learning Curve

A type of "graph" (referred to more figuratively than literally) in which the time it takes to master a particular skill (such as dexterity with a certain computer program) is plotted against the time spent working on that skill. For example, a complicated new program with many unfamiliar features may take some time to master. Such a program is thus said to have a "steep learning curve."
