Line Work

Generally speaking, any image or image carrier—be it an original, a scan, a negative or positive, or printing plate—that contains to halftone or continuous tone images, or shades of gray. In other words, images consisting solely of line art. See Line Art.

In some color electronic publishing systems, line work describes files saved in a linework file format.
