General

  1. PrintWiki is a free encyclopedia of print. Its goals go no further, and material that does not fit this goal must be moved to another project or removed altogether. PrintWiki articles should revolve only around the printing and related industries. An article on the Clarus the dogcow is acceptable, but an article on the [WWW]Welsh Corgi, breeds of dogs is not acceptable. (See What PrintWiki is Not)

  2. Avoid bias. Articles should be written from a neutral point of view, representing all views on a subject, factually and objectively, in an order which is agreeable to a common consensus. All PrintWiki articles must be written from a neutral point of view, representing significant views fairly and without bias. This includes all content, including illustrations, maps, reader-facing templates, categories, and portals. Wikipedia covers [WWW]Neutral Point of View better then PrintWiki ever will. PrintWiki will for the present moment agrees with the Wikipedia NPOV article until a dispute arises. See the PrintWiki highlight of NPOV at PrintWiki/Neutral Point of View

  3. Respect other contributors and readers. PrintWiki contributors come from many different countries and cultures, and have widely different views. Treating others with respect is key to collaborating effectively in building an encyclopedia.

  4. Copyright infringement. PrintWiki uses the [WWW]Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 2.5 License. Submitting work which violates copyrights threatens our objective to build a truly free encyclopedia that anyone can redistribute, and may lead to legal problems. Read more about PrintWiki PrintWiki Copyright policy.

  5. No self-promotion or spam. There are many companies and individuals related to the printing industries. These companies and individuals are not allowed to use PrintWiki to advertise their goods and services. Articles about companies and individuals should be more along the lines of a biography and should respect their competitors. Self-promoting articles will either be trimmed or removed. Contributors posting such articles will be banned from future posting. PrintWiki/No Self Promotion covers our zero tolerance policy on self-promotion.

  6. Abuse of user accounts, such as the creation of [WWW]Internet sock puppets or solicitation of friends and other parties to enforce a non-neutral viewpoint or inappropriate consensus within a discussion, or to disrupt other PrintWiki processes in an annoying manner, will be addressed through the dispute policy.
