Printer's Error

An error in typesetting made by a keyboard operator during input, which needs to be corrected at the proof stage, also known as a typographic error, in contrast to an author's alteration.

The term printer's error also refers to any mistake made in any prepress (negative-making, platemaking, etc.) or printing operation.
