Resolution-Independent

Any text or graphics file or file description language (such as PostScript) that will output a file at the highest resolution the output device is capable of, in contrast to a resolution-dependent file or language (such as the original version of QuickDraw) which only allows certain predetermined resolutions (such as screen resolution) to be printed.
