Acetic Acid

An organic acid (chemical formula C2H4O2) characterized by a pungent scent and produced by a variety of means. It is the primary constituent of vinegar, and is used to synthesize acetate, a transparent plastic film. Acetic acid is also used to test the acid resistance of materials.
