Air Curtin

A device added to the inking system of some offset presses that aids in the removal of extraneous moisture by blowing jets of air against an ink roller so as to accelerate the evaporation of moisture. Although some degree of moisture is a necessary component of lithographic inking systems, too much can cause poor performance and degraded print and drying qualities.
