Carmine F.B.

An organic color pigment used in printing inks. Carmine F.B. is a bluish red possessing high lightfastness, and resistance to acids, alkalis, solvents, soap, water, and heat. At high concentrations, it tends to have poor flow characteristics. The high cost of Carmine F.B. has relegated its use only to those applications where its resistance properties warrant the expense.
