Clip Art

Any non-copyrighted or royalty-free graphic images—such as line drawings, cartoons, photographs, designs, borders, arrows, etc.—supplied either in printed form, on floppy disk, or on CD-ROM for use in mechanicals or digital page layouts when the cost of an illustrator or photographer would be prohibitive. Clip art is typically sold in books or disks by subject matter. When distributed in digtial form, clip art is often referred to as click art.
