Constrain

In a drawing program, a tool used to draw geometrically precise lines or shapes. When drawing a circle, for example, it is not uncommon for it to come out looking like an ellipse; the constrain tool will either restore the original and desired shape after it is drawn or, more often, holding down the Option (or some other) key while drawing will allow the object to keep its shape.
