Crawling

A printing defect characterized by a printed ink film beading up on a substrate which it does not wet completely. Crawling is also a symptom of poor trapping, the printing of one ink on top of a previously-printed ink, in which the first ink film repels the second, causing the ink to form drops. (See also Crystallization.)
