Daisy-Wheel Printer

An impact printer utilizing a plastic wheel with relief characters located on spokes along the perimeter of the wheel. When a character is selected, the wheel rotates to align that character with a hammer which forces the spoke against a ribbon, imaging the page. Daisy wheels are used in computer printers and electronic typewriters. Fonts can be changed by swapping wheels. See Daisy Wheel. Also spelled daisywheel printer.
