Delete Key

On a computer keyboard, a key used to delete text one character at a time. On many keyboards, the delete key is in the position occupied by the backspace key on typewriters, and this key deletes characters as ther cursor backs over a line. Some extended keyboards have a separate delete key which deletes text appearing in front of the cursor.
