Direct Entry Phototypesetter

A phototypesetter whose keyboard is directly connected to the photographic unit. As the operator inputs data, the material is immediately produced on the output mechanism. There may be a buffer area to provide a delay or storage capability. No more than one keyboard, however, may have access to the output or storage mechanism.
