Drier Dissipation

A loss in the effectiveness of a drier, a substance added to printing ink to speed up the rate at which oxidation and/or polymerization dry an ink. Drier dissipation is commonly caused by enhanced absorption of the drier into the substrate or by chemical reaction between the drying compound and a pigment. (See also Drier.)
