Drying Stimulator

A substance, such as cobalt chloride or cobalt acetate, that is added to the fountain solution of an offset press to accelerate or enhance the drying capabilities of the ink. Drying stimulators commonly supplement driers that have been added to the ink. (See Drier, Fountain Solution, and Dampening System.)
