Facsimile Modem

A device, commonly a modem, that allows a computer to send and receive faxes. A facsimile modem (also known as a fax modem) can either be internal (i.e., inserted as an expansion card into the computer), in which case it is known as a fax board, or external (i.e., is an additional capability of an external modem).
