Fountain Cheek

A metal bar or block, two of which form the sides of an ink fountain on an offset press. The fountain cheeks lie at right angles to the fountain blade and fountain roller, and abut the fountain roller tightly, so as to prevent ink leakage out of the fountain. (See Inking System: Offset Lithography and Offset Lithography.)
