Ink Flotation Method

A test to determine the water resistance of paper, or the adequacy of its sizing, in which a paper is floated on the surface of a pool of dark-colored ink. The amount of time between the paper's contact with the ink, and its appearance on the reverse side is a gauge of the efficacy of the sizing.
