Map

In graphics and imaging, to assign colors or levels of gray to one or a set of pixels, as per data contained in the original image. See Color Mapping.

In general computing, the term map also means to assign a drive letter to a particular information path or directory such that when a drive letter is entered, the assigned path or directory is accessed.
