Maximum Density

In imaging, the greatest image density achievable with a particular configuration of devices or substrates. On one particular press using coated paper, for example, the maximum density may be 3.0, while on the same press printing on newsprint it may be 1.5. Also known as Dmax. See also Minimum Density.
