Nanometer

Abbreviated nm, a nanometer is a small unit of measurement equal to 10-9 (0.000000001 or one-billionth) of a meter, used to measure a wavelength of light. To make numbers less unwieldy, frequently the Ångstrom (1 Å = 0.0000000001 meter, or 0.1 nanometer) is used.
