Office Automation

The integration of all information functions in the office, spanning word processing, data processing, electronic mail, graphics, and desktop publishing. The backbone of office automation is a local area network, which serves as a pathway between all users and computers. Users can create, store, and retrieve any form of information (i.e. message, mail, data, voice, etc.) and transmit it to any other user within the organization.
