A capability offered by parametric CAD-type packages, and is based on a new way for represnting geometry in solid modelers. The first commercially available package to present this capability is ProEngineer by Parametric Technology, Inc. It represents a much more powerful way of geometry representation than the traditional Constructive Solid Geometry (CSG) used in conventioanl CAD packages. It will probably replace CSG in the next generation of CAD software fro design.
