Serial interface that permits linkage of computer and graphics terminal or other peripherals and input/output devices.

A standard serial interface for digital transmission of data. RS-232 interfaces can be on computers, video tape recorders, video disc players, etc.

One of the ports of a computer, often called the serial port; the protocol of data transfer through this port.
