Remote Control

Any small electronic device (usually handheld) used to control a piece of equipment from some distance away. The most common example is the television remote control. Remote controls are also used to control VCRs, home audio equipment, as well as professional video editing systems. Most remote controls use either infrared rays to beam information from the remote to the device, while others use a physical wire connecting the remote and device.
