Resource

Facility of the computing system or operating system required by a job or task. Includes main storage, input/output devices, the CPU, datasets, and control or processing programs.

A program object, such as a button, menu or dialog box, that Windows treats differently than normal programs. Resources are developed either in a special resource language or using interactive tools. They can be loaded from separate files or bound directly to the executable file.
