Standard Size

One of several sizes to which paper has been pre-cut, depending on the paper grade. Paper is typically less expensive and more readily available when ordered in a standard size than when ordered in a custom size. There is also less wasted paper when standard sizes are used. Standard sizes can be cut evenly to produce all of the popular trimmed sizes currently in use. Here is a cutting chart which indicates the smaller, popular sizes that can be obtained from the larger, standard sizes:
