Vector

In mathematics, an entity (such as a line segment) that possesses both magnitude and direction, represented by an arrow pointing in the direction of the quantity the length of which is equivalent to the magnitude of the quantity, commonly used to represent forces or trajectories.

Vectors are used in computer graphics to describe lines, curves, and other, more complex geometric shapes, which the system or application describes utilizing the complex mathematical formulas that describe the shape. See Vector Graphics.
