Volume

In mathematics, chemistry, and physics, the amount of space occupied by a three-dimensional object, commonly calculated as the length times the width times the height. Volume thus refers to the physical size of something.

In audio and video, the term volume refers to the intensity or loudness of an audio signal or a sound.

The term volume also refers to a unit of computer storage, usually referring to a single entire disk. In some cases, a volume can be a subdivided portion of a disk.
