Wayzgoose

Wayzgoose has historically been the name for a celebration given by a printer to his workmen at the end of summer. Typically taking place each year on or around St Bartholomew's Day, the celebration marked the end of summer and the point at which the season of working by candlelight began. The word has come to refer to the annual outing or dinner for members of a printing company.
