BON Arylamide Red

An organic color pigment used in printing inks. BON Arylamide Red is a medium, slightly bluish red possessing high lightfastness, and resistance to acids, alkalis, soap, water, and heat. It tends to bleed in most solvents, however. It is somewhat more expensive than similar pigments, and is used when its increased chemical resistance properties warrant it. It is also used for the printing of flesh tones. (See also Organic Color Pigments.)

Also known as Naphthol Red FGR ('CI Pigment Red 112 No. 12370').
