In binding and finishing, a strip of paper—which may or may not be printed—that is wrapped around loose sheets in lieu of proper binding.
A band is also a continuous ribbon of mylar or metal imprinted with characters or dots, used in certain types of impact printers. See Band Printer.
In video, the term band is used to refer to a group of 32 consecutive scan lines.
