Blanking Level

The level or intensity of a signal sent from a videodisc player to a monitor during the blanking interval, usually zero, resulting in a blank screen. Blanking level also refers to the intensity of the signal during the horizontal blanking interval and vertical blanking interval, which needs to always be zero, or no signal, so as to prevent distortion of the screen by the electron gun.
