Character Cell

In the computer generation of text characters (either on a screen or on a printer), the size of the matrix of dots (expressed as the number of horizontal by vertical dots) that makes up a character. A 9 x 9 matrix will thus allow a total of 81 dots to be used to make up a character. Also known as a character matrix.
