Check

In typography, a specialized character or dingbat used in checklists, presentations, etc. Also called a checkmark.

In screen printing, the term check refers to a printing defect characterized by a crack or series of cracks in the surface of a printed ink film, due to a wide variety of causes.

In computing, the term check refers generically to a programmed algorithm for evaluating the accuracy of transmitted, stored, or manipulated data. See Checksum, for example.
