An ANSI-approved, United States standards organization whose primary function is to develop standards for the graphic arts industry. Currently, they provide standards in areas not covered by other standards organizations, and are in the midst of compiling a graphic arts glossary as a means of establishing standard terms and definitions, a daunting task. CGATS is also defining color measurement practices, densitometry standards, and plate dimension standards.
