Diazo Brown

An organic color pigment used in printing inks. Diazo Brown possesses good lightfastness, heat resistance, and acid and alkali resistance properties, and high grease, oil, and wax resistance. Some shades do not withstand exposure to soaps and organic solvents. They are more expensive than Brown Iron Oxides, and are occasionally used in lieu of the latter in cases where the enhanced resistance and lightfastness properties are required. (See also Organic Color Pigments.)
