A proof, either a color or black-and-white reproduction, produced directly from digital data, without any intermediate production of film. There are two types of digital proofs: a digital hard proof or DDCP (a proof made directly on a substrate by an output device connected to the computer) or a digital soft proof (a display of the page or image on a computer monitor).
