Dog-Ear

Part of a sheet of paper—commonly a corner—which has been folded over. Dog-ears can be caused by a number of mechanical problems, either on press or in a folding machine. Some of the less civilized among us also use dog-ears as bookmarks. Also spelled as one word, dogear.
