Drop-Frame Time Code

In video production, a SMPTE time code used in NTSC which drops frame numbers :00 and :01 every minute (except for every tenth minute). This is due to the fact that the effective speed of NTSC is 29.7 frames per second, while most counters measure video frame speed as 30 frames per second.
