Drying-In

A problem of gravure printing characterized by the drying of ink within the cells of the gravure cylinder, causing a loss of color in light-tone areas of the printed image. The use of a slower-drying solvent or vehicle system can alleviate the problem.

In screen printing, the term drying-in is an alternate term for clogging. See Clogging.
