Editing

Modification of any data, either in print or electronically. In book, magazine, and newspaper publishing, editing involves correction—for content, spelling, grammar, etc.—and copyfitting of a manuscript or article. In graphics and imaging, editing refers to changing specific aspects of an image, such as cropping, color correction, etc. In audio, film, and video production, editing involves assembling raw footage or clips into a tight, cohesive production. In this latter sense, editing also involves adding video effects and transitions between scenes and shots.
