Electromechanical Engraving

A means of gravure engraving, or transferring an image to the surface of the image-carrying gravure cylinder. See Gravure Engraving: Electromechanical Engraving.

Electromechanical engraving techniques (comprising a diamond engraving stylus that etches a predetermined pattern in a metal-plated cylinder or roller) are also used in the etching of cells in the surface of a flexographic press's anilox roller. See Anilox Roller.
