Feeder Foot

An adjustable device attached to the rear of a sheetfed press's feeder section used to set the correct height of the paper pile to ensure proper feeding into the press. It also contains a nozzle that blows a jet of air beneath the topmost sheet lifted by the pickup suckers. (See Feeder Section: Sheetfed Offset Lithography and Sheet Separation Unit.) The feeder foot is also called a pressure foot.
