A computer file containing font information. Many typefaces require the installation of multiple font files, in order to be viewed effectively within software, and for correct printing and output. For example, the plain or roman version of a typeface many be a different font file from the italic or bold of that same face. Printing problems may be caused by the incomplete installation of a font set.
