The primary and most basic attribute of a color that makes it distinct from another color, determined by its dominant wavelength of light on the visible spectrum. In ink manufacturing and color matching, hue is more commonly known as shade. Two other aspects of color, in addition to hue, are value and chroma. (See Color Mixing, Ink.)
